Michael Thompson went back to 'Michael Thompson Golf' and the results speak for themselves.  Michael carded a bogey free seven under par 64 which has him in solo second place after the first round of the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota.   Michael hit 11 out of 14 fairways and for the third time in his PGA Tour career, he hit 18 out of 18 greens in regulation.

The spectacular round has come on the heels of his solid play since the Corona Virus induced pause in the PGA Tour season. It also comes at a good time as Michael tries to qualify for the upcoming Fedexcup Playoffs.  Michael is currently 151st and needs to climb inside the top 125 to qualify for the playoff series.

Michael will be playing with Tom Hoge and Ricky Barnes in Friday's second round.  They tee off at 7:50am ET from the first hole.  They are the first group off the tee.
