There are rewards for leading a PGA Tour event on the weekend. One of them is that you get to play in the featured group of the round. For Michael Thompson, round 3 of the RBC Canadian Open will be the first time he'll get to experience weekend golf in the featured group. He will be playing with co-leader Chad Campbell and PGA Tour veteran Paul Goydos who is one shot back. The threesome will tee off at 9:55am PT from the first hole at the Shaughnessy Heights Golf Course.
Rumors have it that the rough will be a tad shorter for the third round which could mean that scores get better. Many players have complained that the rough has been too punitive and perhaps the course superintendent is bending to some pressure. In any event, hitting fairways and greens will continue to be the secret to success at Shaughnessy.
Television coverage will be carried on CBS from 12pm - 3pm PT (3pm - 6pm ET) for the final two rounds.
