The Honda Classic Gets the Florida Swing Started

by Roz Roberts III

Michael Thompson and the rest of the PGA Tour start the five week Florida Swing portion of the season tomorrow at the Honda Classic.  Michael will be looking to rebound from a tough West Coast Swing and get some momentum going as he prepares for his first trip to the Masters as a professional in April.  This part of the season will be closer to his home in Birmingham, Alabama and will allow for a more relaxed travel schedule.

For the first two rounds of the Honda Classic, Michael will be paired with Kevin Stadler and Ryo Ishikawa.  They will tee off from the 10th hole at 11:45am ET for Thursday's first round.

Tompson Returns to Arizona For The Waste Management Phoenix Open

by Randy Roberts

Michael Thompson will be returning to his home state of Arizona when he plays in the Waste Management Phoenix Open this week.  Growing up in Tucson, about a two hour drive to the south, Michael Thompson dreamed of playing in a PGA event in Arizona when he was a boy.  This will be the second time fulfulling that dream, as he played in the event last year, and I'm hoping that the familiarity of the course will benefit him in his second try.  We heard that he'll have quite a crowd following him as numerous friends and family members from Arizona will be making the trek to Scottsdale to watch him play.

Michael will be teeing off at 7:48 Arizona time (6:48 PST) with Jimmy Walker and Ken Duke.
