I think he can, I think he can...

Michael finished in 17th place (+3). That's the third tournament in a row where he finished in the top 20. He's also climbing in the Hooters Tour Money list, now at 48th out of 172. He'll need some top 10 finishes to get up near the top of that list though.

Who picks these tournament names?

This week Michael will be playing in "The Sunset Hills NGA Classic pres. by the City of Edwardsville, IL & the Village of Glen Carbon, IL". I think this event wins the award for the longest name.
UPDATE: Michael finished the 2nd round at +1 overall. Looks like that should be good enough to make the cut.

I've got some overachieving cousins.

Michael's brother Zach will be graduating from the Air Force Academy later this month. He was one of the top students of his class and will be training to be a pilot next. Congratulations Zach!

Thompson orders bogey-free ball, doesn't get it his way

Michael is in 7th place at the Jani-King Classic after 2 rounds. He shot a -2 on Friday, following his -6 on Thursday. The one hickup was a double bogey on the second hole. Other than that it's been bogey free ball for two rounds of play.

Michael is playing in the Jani-King Classic in North Carolina on the Hooters Tour. He had an excellent first round. He went bogey free and finished at -6, which was good for 3rd place after the first round....2 shots back from the leader.

The scoop from Xmas dinner

My sister had Christmas dinner with the Thompson clan and told me that Michael's next event was being held in Texas sometime in January. I'm assuming that it was for the Hooters Tour Ranking School being held in Houston on Jan.19-23.
